Jimmy has more than 25 years of experience in real estate working on asset & property management, redevelopment, asset enhancement, leasing and acquisition negotiation across the various types of properties locally and overseas. Jimmy was the General Manager of Cache Property Management Pte Ltd (property manager of Cache Logistics Trust) for almost 8 years while spending 2 years as Head of Asset for Cache Logistics Trust. During his 10 years tenure with Cache Logistics Trust, He strategized many leasing negotiations which achieved “win-win” situation with tenants, introduced operational procedures to ensure the properties are well managed and actively involved in all the new acquisitions. Prior to joining CPM, Jimmy joined Mapletree Investment Pte Ltd – Industrial Unit as a Manager (Asset Management / Investment) managing the $1.7 billion industrial portfolio acquired from JTC Corporation under the Mapletree Industrial Trust listed in SGX. He was promoted to Senior Manager after 1 year of service and directly responsible for the EBITDA and occupancy of the Business Park buildings, Woodland Spectrum Stack-Up and some other portfolio. He led his team to negotiate various leases one of which involve a 19 years lease with a US company who required the landlord to undertake a major A&A work to the premises. He led the project team and successfully addressed all the technical issues required by the US company. He also recommended many other asset enhancement initiatives for the portfolio during his tenure of which two of them were successfully completed by him.
Prior to that, he was the Property Manager with WBL Corporation managing properties in Singapore and Malaysia and before that, Jimmy was the Deputy Manager with JTC Corporation for 7 years where he was involved in the divestment exercise, operating budget planning & control, facilities management, industrial relocation as well as “Buy-Back” negotiation. He had also managed many other properties such as AIA Agency building, Parklane Shopping Mall, BatamIndo Industrial Park and Bayshore Park Condominium.
Jimmy was involved in Community works as Residents’ Committee Chairman for Compassvale RC from 1999 to 2005 and as an Assistant Secretary in SengKang Development Steering Committee from 2000. Recognising his commitment, Jimmy Chan was awarded the title of “Pingat Bakti Masyarakat” (PBM) by President of the Republic of Singapore. Jimmy is currently a Trainer with RICS conducting CEA Course such as Asset Enhancement Initiative and a Vice-Chairman for Waterfront Isle Condominium.
He holds a Master Degree in Real Estate and a Bachelor Degree (Hon) in Estate Management both from the University of Reading (UK), and a Diploma in Building Management from Ngee Ann Polytechnics.
